The 2007 innovations
On December 5 the expo of e-tourism took place in Palm Beach in Cannes. This meeting presented testimonials of the essential actors of this domain, economic engine of our Mediterranean basin, and the innovating projects of tourism which will form the technological horizon of tomorrow.

A star was born!
The new "Who's Who in the World" is available since November 15, 2006. One of the members of LudoTIC, Teresa Colombi was requested by people in charge for the publication to submit her biography.
PhD in Cognitive psychology at the University of Nice Sophia Antipolis, Master Degree in Cognitive Psychology and Master Degree in Industrial and Organisational Psychology, her profile of researcher and business woman conquered the Who's Who team.
Her many publications about the contribution of the eye-tracking analysis to the study of the reading processes, and to the "Evaluation Methods of the Usability of the Interfaces", also contributed to direct the choice of Who's Who team towards this remarkable ludonome©.

Seriously virtual!
The International Days of the IDATE, like each year, were occurred like the incontrovertable meeting for all of the actors of the Broadband, the Mobiles Phones and the Media. "Serious Games" was the topic of the 2006 edition of videogames forum, real interfaces for games and learning.
After the success of the 2005 edition, the DigiWorld Summit, conceived like an international platform of debates and discussions, has been the occasion to come back to the principal events which marked the year 2006 or which will constitute key stakes for the years to come.
China was invited as the special guest of forum in order to better understanding the dynamism of its market and its actors, and also to appreciate its effervescence in the service innovation.

Usability
above all
Once again this year, people all over the world will celebrate World Usabiltiy Day, held on November 14, 2006. LudoTIC's associates will attend several events, most notably those at Sophia Antipolis and in Paris.
The association Use Age, founded by LudoTIC, is organizing an afternoon of lectures and workshops on the theme “usability” at the Hôtel Oméga of Sophia Antipolis. For the Parisian event, Teresa Colombi will represent LudoTIC and will demonstrate the contribution of ocular movement recording to the optimization of interfaces. We hope to see many of you at these functions!

Into a larger space
Starting October 2, the LudoTIC team will be giving you a warm welcome in our new locale near the port of Nice from Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., at 19 D Ter at the corner of Boulevard Lech Walesa.
This new location will be a place for educational exchange through our trainings, for research employing our user tests, and for consulting to all our clients.

Sea, video games and sun
From the 5th through the 15th of August, the associates of LudoTIC will be away from the office, making sure to pack their survival kits: computers, video games, noon-time sun, and the not-to-be-forgotten vacation book - “the little illustrated usability engineer.”
The LudoTIC's team wishes you an excellent summer vacation and looks forward to greeting you again for the start of the academic year.
On July 6, Aurore Russo led the multimedia ludo-educative and special needs workshop. The participants gave presentations on the topic, bringing their testimonies and research results.
Aurore Russo, serving as an ambassador for LudoTIC, connected with each presenter, editor, and consumer of ludo-educative games.
On June 8, LudoTIC participated in the 4th annual Déficients Visuels et Nouvelles Technologies (“New Technologies for the Visually Impaired”) conference that took place at the Polytechnic School at the Université de Nice Sophia Antipolis.
This event presented new technologies for the visually impaired, notably in the fields of art, culture, and recreation.

A multicultural project
May 22nd through the 26th, LudoTIC took part in the international symposium IAMOT 2006 in Beijing, China. During the course of this interchange on managerial, economic, social, and cultural components of new technologies, LudoTIC distinguished itself by presenting its cutting edge technology – “Eye Tracking”.
On the night of April 13, a grand prize drawing took place that gave the happy winners two free offers of services by LudoTIC.

On April 13 at the Hôtel Omega in Sophia Antipolis, LudoTIC presented Eye Tracker TOBIITM, the latest technological advance in the expert analysis of interfaces.
During the course of three organized sessions, LudoTIC used concrete examples to introduce its guests to the added value of a reflective, readable, user-centered interface.
Demonstrations of ocular movement recording via TOBIITM and a question and answer session followed the presentations of LudoTIC's expertise and the “Eye Tracking” technique.
The encounter was headed by Teresa Colombi, Ph.D., Usability Engineer specializing in hypertext, along with Aurore Russo, Usability Engineer specializing in e-learning, and Leonid Synyukov, Usability Engineer and Computing Specialist.
On March 23 at the Multimedia Pole “Belle de Mai” in Marseille, LudoTIC took the floor in a debate on the place of the user in learning platforms alongside professors and academics. LudoTIC became the interface between the academic and business worlds by offering up its knowledge of and familiarity with both universes.
The 11th Annual Day of the Orme (Observatory of resources in multimedia for education) had for a theme this year, “Users: key players in educational and cultural multimedia?”.
This event unfolded over three days of activity centering on digital products and services and was punctuated by debates and live demonstrations of uses for multimedia in school as well as at home, in educational and cultural organizations and structures, and in public Internet access spaces.
On January 5, 2006, Teresa Columbi gave a presentation on the topic “Usability Engineering and Design: Two Names for One Field?” as part of a soirée hosted and organized by Sparkling Point.
Sparkling Point is a community of Business Networking that fosters business and technical exchanges centering on new technologies in information and communication.
This independent initiative is open to people with diverse backgrounds:
IT decision-makers, consultants, sales and marketing associates, Web architects, developers, journalists, usability engineers… The topics addressed incorporate integration, content control, CRM, cooperative software, XML, Web services, business processes, methodology, usability engineering, and legal aspects. Each monthly meeting is organized around a theme that is illustrated by a short exposé and is intended to fuel exchanges.
